Meet Michael Somerville, RemedyBiz Vice President

Michael S. Somerville, PMP, is a seasoned project manager and solutions architect with more than 23 years of experience designing and delivering innovative systems, tools, and strategies for federal agencies. With a strong foundation in systems engineering, business analysis, and program leadership, he specializes in building solutions that streamline operations, enhance decision-making, and drive organizational efficiency.

As Vice President of RemedyBiz, Inc., Michael provides executive-level project and program management expertise and oversees teams across the full systems lifecycle. As Deputy Program Manager for the NIH Business Systems (NBS), he plays a pivotal role in supporting enterprise-level initiatives and fostering collaboration across interdisciplinary teams. He also continues to serve as a subject matter expert for the Department of Energy, contributing to projects within the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) and other DOE programs.


From 2013 to 2021, Michael held leadership roles at Appsential LLC, where he delivered systems engineering, solutions architecture, data management, and change management services to federal clients. He led multiple high-impact initiatives—spanning portfolio management tools, financial integration, analytical dashboards, user engagement platforms, and content management solutions. His work has consistently bridged the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders to achieve clarity, alignment, and actionable outcomes.


As Vice President of RemedyBiz, Inc., Michael provides executive-level project and program management expertise and oversees teams across the full systems lifecycle.

Michael has also provided independent consulting services as a solution architect and technical writer, leading proposal development efforts and producing both written and visual materials to support winning strategies for federal programs. Earlier in his career, he worked as a systems engineer and product architect at Lockheed Martin and TecSec Services, contributing to complex technical solutions and high-security systems for government clients.


Michael holds a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Management Science (Information Systems) from the University of Maryland—both earned with a perfect 4.0 GPA. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and has earned additional certifications in ITIL, systems architecture, and computing technologies.


Throughout his career, Michael has been recognized with numerous awards for excellence, leadership, and innovation. He is known for his ability to integrate technical rigor with strategic vision—delivering solutions that not only work, but last.
